How to Manage Time

For some people time management may be difficult to start. Effective time management in a workplace will greatly benefit the company on reaching its full potential. For students, effective time management will help them to do other things aside from school work, such as taking a part-time job or taking care house work. All people have the same amount of time, and the only difference is how they use it.
There are several factors that will lead to poor time management and these include; procrastination, failure to delegate and set priorities, too vague objectives, lack of management skills and self discipline and attempting to do too much at once. Knowing the tips of time management or having a time management techniques will help everyone on managing its time.
Self-Assessment
Acknowledge that one is ready to change his habits. Effective time management starts with the individual himself.
Making a list
List all activities in a day and take the time to review how much time is spent on each activity. Check which activities consume most of his time and determine if these tasks are his priorities. Make sure to set a time frame on each activity, so time will not be wasted.
Setting Goals and Priorities
Make a “Daily-To-Do-List.” It is be very helpful on effective time management. Start a plan of what tasks need to be completed. Write goals in a piece of sticky note, PDA, mobile phone or PC; Unwritten goals are likely cannot be achieved. Start doing things that matter most and follow it with the least important activities.
Scheduling
Determine which part of the day is an individual at peak; it is suggested when scheduling activities. For some, they are night person, so they can set their priorities at night. Divide long term goals into short term goals and include these goals in the schedule.
Time Management Habits
Use idle time to read books or write other plans in mind; it is one among the good habits of effective time management. Organize things and clear the desk out of clutters. Having clean desk will help one think better and keep important tasks in mind. Start doing things as soon as possible, even if one does like it or not. One must practice working right away of what’s on his list to avoid procrastination.
